Jaws has always been one of my top 10 favorite movies, but somehow, my appreciation for it grows with each viewing. Maybe it's yet another sign that I'm getting old, but I would rather watch classics like Jaws repeatedly, then to waste my time with 99% of what is being spewed forth by the major studios these days.
I'm very excited about this kit! I don't have too much left to do on the sculpt. I'm pretty happy with Bruce's likeness right now. I will continue to refine everything as I go. I mainly have some detailing to do in the mouth and then I'll start working on his mechanical guts.
Like all of our kits, Bruce the Mechanical Shark will primarily consist of cast resin parts along with some 3D-printed parts as required. He will be 18 inches long and will come with a base. I will not be modeling the entire underwater mount. That would be too much at this scale and drive the price too high. I will be terminating the mount at the water's surface - similar to what is shown in the image above. A clear acrylic rod will most likely be included for additional support.
We're hoping to release the kit around mid-Sept of this year. That feels pretty aggressive to me right now, but I don't want to stretch it out too far beyond that. Price has yet to be determined. I'll be posting pics of my progress very shortly. Stay tuned.
Can't wait to see what you do with this one David!
